The municipality of Groningen is improving its invoice processing process by using e-invoices. From January 1st 2019 onward we can accept e-invoices.

Why does the municipality of Groningen consider e-invoicing important?
We want to create more efficiency in the entire financial process by receiving all invoices directly in the financial administration. This makes our entire financial process more efficient and allows us to pay invoices quickly.

What is e-invoicing?

Electronic invoicing (e-Invoicing) is the digital way of sending, receiving and automatic processing of any invoice.

e-Invoices have many advantages:

Excellent delivery, faster payment;
Improved efficiency and less errors;
Improved supplier-customer relationship;
Less paper consumption; so better for the environment.

1. How to send e-invoices

In the overview below we provide an overview of the various e-invoice connection options. Depending on, for example, the number of e-invoices that you send annually and the possibilities in your IT environment, the one type of e-invoicing connection solution is more suitable for you than the other. We advise you to go through the different possibilities for e-invoicing with the person in charge of your Finance and / or IT department. These employees of your organization know all the possibilities that your financial package offers. When indicating your choice, you will receive all the necessary information to get your connection working.

EXISTING E-INVOICING CONNECTION	NEW E-INVOICING CONNECTION	MANUAL PORTAL

If you already use Basware Network, another e-invoice platform (Billing Service Provider) or SimplerInvoicing (PEPPOL)? Then you can also use this solution for the municipality of Groningen.	If your organization can generate XML invoices, you also need a Billing Service Provider to send your invoices to the municipality of Groningen. You can purchase this e-invoicing connection and make sure that all your outgoing invoices are converted to the desired invoice format of your customer.	If you send a small number of invoices each year, you can enter them manually in the Basware portal. This is a free solution. With your account you can send invoices to all your customers who are connected to the Basware Network.
